David Lyman
Founder and Partner
As one of the most trusted and respected executive recruiters in the midwest, David Lyman thrives on helping senior leaders and mid-sized companies transform their futures. He specializes in C-level and board searches, with involvement in every engagement.
David’s career spans more than 30 years at international and boutique search firms where his integrity, vision and partnering approach led to success. Prior to launching Lyman Executive Search in 2019, he cofounded LymanDoran, the third largest executive search firm in Minneapolis and St. Paul, and led Schall Lyman, a regional practice. He began his career with key positions at Russell Reynolds Associates and Korn Ferry International.
David prides himself on being a strong listener, connector and coach with solid ties to his community, family and professional network. He is an active board member for Dunwoody College of Technology chairing its Institutional Advancement Committee, current member of the Private Directors Association and past president of the Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club. He earned an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College. David and his wife have four children and live in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Brad Ingber
Partner
Known for his passion, enthusiasm and authentic relationships, Brad brings over 15 years of talent acquisition and executive search experience to each new client he engages with. He specializes in technology leadership, professional services and high-growth organizational models.
Brad spent over 12 years helping Slalom Consulting grow from a firm with big dreams into an organization known globally for their human-centric outcomes. Most recently he led Slalom’s Global Executive Search team. In that time Brad developed expertise in Cloud technology, AI, data and other technology growth engines that are required for companies to compete today. Prior to joining Slalom, Brad spent several years in Talent Acquisition at Target Corporation in Minneapolis. Brad holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. In the community Brad is a former board member at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, is a champion of Parkinson’s research with the Michael J. Fox Foundation and was nominated as an Honorary Commander with the 934th Airlift Wing. He lives in the Twin Cities with his wife and two sons, and enjoys golfing, cycling and aviation as a Private Pilot.
A C-level recruiter with a phenomenal track record of delivering key talent, Theresa Michel is a valued partner to family-owned and privately-held companies. Intentionally a generalist with wide-ranging industry experience, clients appreciate Theresa’s strategic mindset, fresh lens and transparent, consultative approach.
More than 20 years of C-suite search experience—including both client side and search firm roles—gives her valuable perspective on all aspects of the hiring process. Her career spans top boutique search firms, 7 years at Korn/Ferry International and 5 years at a publicly traded company where she launched and led a groundbreaking in-house executive search function.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and JD degree from William Mitchell College of Law. Theresa lives with her husband and their two children in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Libby Utter
Search & Business Development Consultant
Libby Utter spent more than 15 years in executive search culminating in her role as President of The Wood Group. She has extensive experience with C-level and Board searches with privately-held middle market companies, as well as financial services and nonprofit search expertise.
Prior to joining Lyman Executive Search in 2021, Libby worked in the nonprofit healthcare sector, most recently as Executive Director of Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, a cancer support organization.
Libby is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She is past President of the Private Directors Association – Minnesota Chapter, and prior board service includes the Board of Directors for Theater Latte Da, past Chair of the Board of the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, Minnesota Stroke Association, and the Scleroderma Foundation and many other nonprofit and association organizations. Libby holds a Certificate in Private Company Governance and currently chairs the Governance/Nominating Committee of the PDA – MN.
Katy Maus brings more than 15 years of recruiting experience across a variety of industries. Her client-side human resources experience combined with her tenure in executive search gives her a well-rounded perspective on the executive search process and deliverables. Katy leverages her sourcing expertise in her role as Search Consultant with Lyman Executive Search.
After graduating from the College of St. Benedict, Katy spent five years in the recruiting industry, specializing in the placement of human resources professionals. Following completion of her Master’s in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, she spent 11 years in the construction industry where she was responsible for all aspect of human resources in a privately held family company.
Katy lives in Minnetonka, Minnesota with her husband and their three children. When not in a hockey rink, Katy loves spending time on the boat.
Samantha Hansen
Business Manager Consultant
Samantha Hansen is a business operations leader with over a decade of experience helping service-based organizations streamline systems, and optimize team performance. She brings deep operational expertise and a steady, collaborative approach to supporting growing businesses as they evolve.
Before joining Lyman Executive Search, Samantha served as Director of Operations at Bridges Consulting, where she led internal process improvements and client delivery strategies that enabled the firm to significantly expand its client base and impact. Her background reflects a strong balance of strategic insight and hands-on execution.
Samantha holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the Harvard Extension School. She is also an active member of the Operations Team for the Klondike Dog Derby, a community winter event in Excelsior, Minnesota.
